Randolph Cauthen holds a B.A. in English from Pomona College, an M.A. in creative writing from Syracuse University, and a Ph.D. in composition and rhetoric from the University of Louisville. His academic specialties include legal rhetoric, qualitative research methods, and contemporary political rhetoric. His book, Black Letters, An Ethnography of Legal Writing, is forthcoming from Hampton Press, he is an editor of The Quarterly Review of Doublespeak, he has served as a member of the board of Rhetoricians for Peace, and his poems and translations have appeared in the chapbook The Use of Force as well as a large number of literary magazines no one has ever heard of.
