All students must take HIS 101 or its equivalent to satisfy CSUDH's general education requirements.

The Department of History gives you two ways to do this. You can enroll in and attend a classroom session of HIS 101, offered every Fall and Spring semester (and often in the Summer).

Or you can take the US History Challenge Exam. If you take the exam and pass it, you have the option of just having the graduation requirement satisfied (good for those who don't need additional units to graduate), or satisfying the requirement and also receiving three lower-division units.
