Our mission is to provide majors and minors in history with courses, advising, and program experiences that facilitate comprehension, application, analysis and evaluation of history-based knowledge and writing. We believe that the study of history is an integral part of education at all levels and we take our responsibility to prepare students to become teachers of history themselves very seriously.

All of our faculty are dedicated to serving our students. That means giving our best in the classroom, as well as making ourselves available to help students succeed in whatever ways we can.

I encourage you to get involved in the new History Student Club. The student leaders have planned several events for the coming semester. Go to the Documents page for the club's constitution and by-laws.

Please note that as of Fall 2008, History majors can view their progress in the major via their MyCSUDH online connection (under Degree Progress).
