History Student Club

Strangelove posterWelcome to the Club!

We invite all students at CSUDH, especially History majors and minors, to check out the History Club. We promote the study and understanding of history, and well as preparation for careers in history, by organizing a couple of events each semester. Spring 2009 events included trips to the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit at the Bowers Museum, the Getty Villa Museum, and a showing/discussion of the movie Dr. Strangelove (event poster at right).

We're a new club and looking for ways to best help our fellow students. Contact any of the officers below if you have questions or suggestions for events.

Fall 2009 Events

Movie Night in October
We're planning a movie night for late October. Email Stacey Kiser (sjeromek@hotmail.com) with suggestions for a movie. It should be related to history in some important way. A panel will lead a discussion of the film afterwards.

Trip in December
We're considering options for a trip to museum or historical site. Email Stacey if you have suggestions, especially if you know of some special event with a history emphasis.

Spring 2010 Events

Grad Student in February
We hope to bring a History graduate student to campus to share his or her current research and experiences in grad school.
